President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced that a Chinese brand is planning to establish an electric car factory in Manisa. Erdoğan also added that the signatures related to this matter have been signed, and noted that another company will open a factory in Samsun.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held an interview with journalists on the plane returning from his visits to Malaysia, Indonesia, and Pakistan. President Erdoğan announced that two Chinese companies will establish electric vehicle factories in Manisa and Samsun.

"BOTH ARE GLOBAL BRANDS"

Erdoğan stated, "Both are serious global brands. The production of these vehicles in Manisa and Samsun will bring a very different atmosphere to the automotive sector in Turkey."

Erdoğan spoke about the electric car factories that the two Chinese brands will establish in Samsun and Manisa:

"We know how successful Asian countries, especially China, are in the electric vehicle sector. Indeed, we have made an agreement with a Chinese company. They have plans to establish a factory in Manisa. We signed the agreements in Dolmabahçe, Istanbul.

Another Chinese brand also has plans to establish a factory in Samsun. Work is ongoing in this regard, and our Minister of Industry and Technology, Fatih Kacır, is following up. Both are serious global brands.

The production of these vehicles in Manisa and Samsun will bring a very different atmosphere to the automotive sector in Turkey. We are determined to maintain the momentum in the automotive sector, which has been achieved by TOGG in the domestic market. Turkey is virtually calling out to the world with TOGG, saying 'We are here, we exist, and we are strong.'

BYD WILL START PRODUCTION IN MANISA IN 2026

Previously, an investment agreement worth 1 billion dollars was signed with BYD, and the construction phase for the factory to be established in Manisa has begun. BYD will start production at the factory in Manisa in 2026.

THE INVESTMENT AMOUNT WILL BE OVER 2 BILLION DOLLARS

Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır announced that the investment amount will be over 2 billion dollars. In a statement made last month, Minister Kacır said, "We have reached the stage of bringing nearly 7 billion dollars of investment to Turkey. God willing, next month we will announce an investment package of over 2 billion dollars, which is the first phase of this."

"TOGG HAS THE POTENTIAL TO BE A COMPETITIVE PLAYER"

President Erdoğan expressed that the domestically produced TOGG has the potential to be a competitive player not only for Turkey but also globally:

"TOGG is not an end for us; it is a beginning. It is a strong step we have taken into the automotive world. We need to cover more distance on this path, and we will cover these distances. Whenever a leader sees and tests our car, we hear their praise.

This has also happened in Malaysia, Indonesia, and Pakistan. They all liked the vehicle and the comfort it offers very much. We have no doubt that TOGG will solidify its place in the industry and continue on its path. TOGG has the potential to be a competitive player not only for Turkey but also globally.

"PAKISTAN BROUGHT TOGG TO THE AGENDA"

Erdoğan noted that exporting TOGG to countries like Malaysia, Indonesia, and Pakistan is a very important step and that this step will open the door to production in those countries.

President Erdoğan also mentioned that Pakistan has brought up the issue of TOGG producing in their country:

It is very important to take concrete steps regarding the export of TOGG and its positioning in markets like Malaysia, Indonesia, and Pakistan.

Such collaborations not only strengthen Turkey's automotive industry but also shape trade relations with these countries. Initially, the introduction of TOGG in these countries may come to the fore, followed by production or joint investment opportunities.

Indeed, Pakistan has also brought up the issue of production in their country. These are significant steps. The positioning of TOGG abroad will open a new door not only for the automotive sector but also for Turkey's international prestige and economic relations.

In this context, evaluating collaborations and joint investment opportunities can turn into a win-win situation for both sides. I believe that Turkey's car, TOGG, will also become our country's global brand."
