In a tragic accident in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, two helicopters collided mid-air, resulting in six fatalities. Among the deceased was American singer Oliver Tree Nickell. One of the helicopters crashed into an electric vehicle showroom and exploded, causing secondary explosions in the city.

FAMOUS SINGER AMONG 6 KILLED

Fire crews were dispatched to the scene, while the Rio de Janeiro Military Fire Department confirmed that 6 people died in the accident and no survivors were found from the helicopters. It was reported that one helicopter had a pilot and four passengers, while the other had only a pilot. 

It was reported that among those killed in the horrific accident was American famous singer Oliver Tree Nickell.

ONE OF THE HELICOPTERS CRASHED INTO AN AREA WITH ELECTRIC CARS AND EXPLODED

Authorities stated that one of the helicopters crashed into a car dealership where electric vehicles were located, exploding upon impact and causing secondary explosions. It was also reported that the accident led to a large fire that ignited about 20 vehicles in the dealership. The flames were later brought under control and extinguished. The other helicopter, which fell about 100 meters away, was reported to have landed upside down and did not catch fire.

DEBRIS SCATTERED HUNDREDS OF METERS AWAY

Authorities also noted that debris fragments were scattered hundreds of meters away, emphasizing that data on the cause of the incident is still at a very early stage. The statement said, "Parts of the helicopter are scattered hundreds of meters away, so the information we have is still very preliminary. We need to examine records and footage to fully understand the incident."
