GELENDOST MAYOR RESIGNED

Isparta Gelendost Mayor Mustafa Özmen announced that he has resigned from the İYİ Party. In his resignation statement, Özmen said, "While making this decision, I have made an effort to do what is right in order to contribute to the unity that our country needs today and to bring our district together with the services it deserves. When it comes to the homeland, political preferences may differ, but my love for our people and my passion for service will grow even stronger."

ÇAĞLAYANCERİT MAYOR ALSO LEFT

Kahramanmaraş's Çağlayancerit Mayor Yemliha Göktaş also resigned from the İYİ Party. In his statement announcing his resignation, Göktaş said, "I have made the decision to resign from the İYİ Party, to create a unifying and comprehensive unity in our district."

ÜNAL KARAMAN HAD RESIGNED

The resignation of former İYİ Party General Chairman Meral Akşener's close associate, former football figure MP Ünal Karaman, has become one of the important topics in politics. In a statement he made on his social media account, Karaman said, "I carry the Turkish flag that I pinned to my chest at a very young age, with the same spirit and pride in my parliamentary role as I did in my sports career. Because I have always acted solely with a sense of service and duty. The love, support, and prayers of my loved ones, whom I always feel by my side, have been my greatest source of strength on this challenging path. Their love, favor, and trust have always reinforced my goal of protecting the noble interests of the Turkish nation. With the awareness of this sacred responsibility, as a result of my evaluations, I have decided to resign from the İYİ Party. This decision is a necessity of my will to serve my nation better."

NUMBER OF MPs DROPPED FROM 44 TO 28

With Karaman's resignation, the distribution in the Parliament has also changed. After the general elections in 2023, the İYİ Party had 44 MPs. With this resignation, the number of İYİ Party MPs has decreased to 28.
