Güner Özkul, the daughter of the unforgettable name of Yeşilçam, Münir Özkul, has filed two separate lawsuits against Arzu Film and Gülşah Film on the grounds that films featuring her father in the lead role have been published without permission. Özkul is seeking to halt the publications and is demanding 20,000 TL in compensation from each company.
The legendary figure of Yeşilçam, Münir Özkul's daughter Güner Özkul, took action with the claim that her father's unforgettable films were published without permission. Two separate lawsuits filed against Arzu Film and Gülşah Film, owned by Hülya Koçyiğit and Selim Soydan, created a significant stir in the cinema world.
In the petition submitted to the Istanbul Intellectual and Industrial Rights Court by lawyer Bişar Abdi Alinak, it was claimed that productions such as "Bizim Aile," "Aile Şerefi," "Neşeli Günler," and "Gülen Gözler" were broadcast without permission on television, digital platforms, and social media. Güner Özkul emphasized that her father was not only an actor in these films but also the owner of the works, highlighting that he did not grant any publication rights.
CLAIM FOR COMPENSATION AND PUBLICATION BAN
According to Hürriyet's news, the lawsuit file requested the cessation of unauthorized broadcasts and the remedy of copyright violations. Özkul is also demanding 20,000 TL in both material and moral compensation from each of the two film companies. Among the items requested from the court was a precautionary measure to prevent the screening of the films while the trial is ongoing.
