Two students, aged 17 and 16, drowned while swimming at a youth camp located in the Silifke district of Mersin. An investigation has been initiated regarding the incident.

Two students aged 17 who entered the sea at the youth camp in Silifke district of Mersin drowned, while one is reported to be in critical condition.

Some of the students who came to the Yıldırım Beyazıd Camp, affiliated with the Youth Sports Provincial Directorate in Susanoğlu Neighborhood of Silifke district, Mersin, entered the sea to swim this afternoon.

TWO STUDENTS LOST THEIR LIVES

Due to the windy weather and choppy sea, three of the students began to struggle in the water. With the help of the staff and bystanders, the students were pulled out of the sea in an unconscious state and were taken by ambulance to Silifke State Hospital. 17-year-old M.E.A. and 16-year-old C.E.K. could not be saved and lost their lives.

AN INVESTIGATION HAS BEEN INITIATED

17-year-old A.B., who was transferred to a private hospital, was later sent to Mersin City Hospital after the initial intervention. It was learned that the young person's condition is critical and that their treatment is ongoing in the intensive care unit. An investigation has been initiated regarding the incident.
