In the earthquake, our 14-year-old daughter named Afranur Günlü was taken to the hospital due to a panic attack in Fethiye, but unfortunately, she lost her life despite all interventions. Treatments for 14 of the 69 citizens who jumped from heights due to panic in Muğla and its districts were carried out on-site. Treatments for 8 people were completed, and they were discharged. The examinations and treatments of 46 citizens are continuing in the emergency room. I pray for the soul of our child Afranur who lost her life, and I wish my condolences to her relatives. I extend my best wishes to the citizens affected by the earthquake. May God protect our country and nation from disasters."

Minister of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change Murat Kurum also stated on his social media account that, as of now, there is no negative situation, but the teams have started their field scanning work.
Kurum said, "I extend my best wishes to all our citizens due to the earthquake of magnitude 5.8 that occurred off the Mediterranean coast and was felt in surrounding provinces, especially Muğla. GOVERNOR AKBIYIK: 69 PEOPLE WERE AFFECTED DUE TO PANIC
Muğla Governor İdris Akbıyık, who made a statement about the earthquake on his social media account, also announced that there is currently no destruction in the city.
Akbıyık stated, "As of now, there is no negative situation in our province due to the earthquake of magnitude 5.8 that occurred off the coast of Marmaris. Field scanning works are ongoing. I wish all our citizens well." In a later statement, Governor Akbıyık reported that 69 citizens were affected by the earthquake in the city, and the 14-year-old young person who experienced a panic attack lost their life. Akbıyık made the following statement: "So far, 69 of our citizens have been affected by the earthquake. 10 citizens were taken to the hospital by ambulance, and 45 citizens applied to hospitals on foot, totaling 55 citizens. 14 citizens were treated on-site.
