Before the match in which our representative RAMS Başakşehir drew 2-2 away against Copenhagen on Thursday night, a scandal occurred. INSULTING BANNER FROM COPENHAGEN TO BAŞAKŞEHİRUEFA allowed a banner prepared by Copenhagen fans that contained insults. The banner reading "You're f*cked now" was not accepted by the UEFA representative despite the objections made by RAMS Başakşehir officials. While UEFA did not allow banners from Celtic and PSG fans that aimed to highlight the drama in Gazze, it saw no issue in permitting the insulting banner. BAŞAKŞEHİR'S RESPONSE WAS PROMPTIn response, RAMS Başakşehir Club shared a scene containing insults from Cem Yılmaz's G.O.R.A. film today on their X account, tagging the Copenhagen Club, thus indirectly returning the insult to Copenhagen. Başakşehir added the note, "There is a saying among Americans, does it sound familiar?" to the video they published. UEFA, WHICH ALLOWED THE BANNER, APOLOGIZED TO BAŞAKŞEHİRUEFA sent an apology letter to RAMS Başakşehir regarding the banner in the Copenhagen match and stated that it would follow up on the matter. In a statement to TRT SPOR regarding the issue, RAMS Başakşehir Club President Göksel Gümüşdağ said, "We objected to UEFA's acceptance of the banner. Three hours later, we received an apology message from UEFA. I believe Copenhagen will also have to issue an apology. At least, it made UEFA acknowledge that it was unacceptable."
