The United Nations stated that Israel's restrictions on humanitarian aid shipments to Gaza have serious consequences and have led to an increase in deadly conditions. UN spokesperson Dujarric emphasized that the obstruction of aid efforts has triggered preventable deaths in Gaza.
The United Nations (UN) warned that Israel's restriction of humanitarian aid shipments to the Gaza Strip poses a "life-threatening" risk.
UN Spokesperson Stephane Dujarric made statements regarding Gaza, where Israel has blocked aid efforts, during a press conference.
"PREVENTABLE DEATHS ARE OCCURRING IN GAZA"
Dujarric emphasized that Israel's blockades have deadly consequences, stating, "Every day without a ceasefire, preventable deaths are occurring in Gaza. Children are dying in pain, and people are being shot while trying to reach help."
Pointing out that the fuel crisis in Gaza is deepening, Dujarric said, "We have managed to deliver about 75,000 liters of fuel over the past two days, but this amount is only a small part of what is needed to sustain daily life-saving operations." He noted that if the current restrictions are not lifted immediately, more services will cease.
"18 INJURED TRAPPED UNDER RUBBLE IN ONE DAY"
Dujarric stated that Israel did not allow UN teams to deliver fuel to northern Gaza and also blocked access to an area in Gaza City where 18 injured individuals were trapped under rubble on Thursday, all of whom lost their lives.
Dujarric shared that only 6 out of 15 humanitarian aid activities coordinated with Israeli authorities on Thursday were fully realized, adding that Israel has not allowed any shelter materials to enter Gaza for more than 130 days.
