At least five people, including two children, were killed in a shooting in the state of South Carolina, police said on Thursday.
"Dr. Robert Lesslie & his wife, Barbara Lesslie were both found in the home & died as a result of gunshot wounds, as well as their 2 grandchildren. James Lewis of Gastonia, was working at the home & died from gunshot wounds," the York County Sheriff's Office tweeted about the shooting that occurred Wednesday evening.
Police responded to a report of a shooting involving multiple individuals at 4.45 p.m. (2045GMT), the office said Wednesday, adding that they are searching for a young male which was confirmed to be found later in a nearby house.
While the investigation continues, the office ensured the community that there is no active threat.
The identity of the suspect is yet to be made public. -
