New home sales in the US rose in December, according to a report Wednesday by the Census Bureau and the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Sales of new single‐family homes came in at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 811,00, an 11.9% increase from the revised November rate of 725,000.
New home sales, which shows the number of new single-family homes sold, was estimated to come in at 760,000.
The median sale price was $377,700 and the average sales price was $457,300.
An estimated 762,000 new homes were sold in 2021, marking a 7.3% decrease from the 2020 figure of 822,000, said the report. -
