Both countries expressed their concerns about the escalation of conflicts and conveyed messages of mediation.
PAKISTAN–TALIBAN TENSION ESCALATES
The Islamabad administration announced that they are in "open war" with the Taliban government and conducted air operations in Kabul and Kandahar. The Afghan side claimed to have seized 15 positions belonging to Pakistan along the border and reported that many soldiers were killed. The Pakistani administration accused the Taliban of provocation along the border and announced that they responded. It was reported that dozens of soldiers from both sides lost their lives in the clashes.
IRAN CALLS FOR DIALOGUE AND MEDIATION
The Tehran administration emphasized the importance of a diplomatic solution in the face of escalating tensions. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that they are ready to provide all kinds of support to facilitate dialogue between the two countries. In his message, Araghchi said, "The Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to provide all necessary assistance to facilitate dialogue between the two countries and to strengthen mutual understanding and cooperation."
RUSSIA: ATTACKS MUST STOP IMMEDIATELY
Moscow also took a clear stance against the expansion of conflicts. Russia called on the parties to immediately cease hostilities and stated that it could consider a mediation role if requested.
