In a historic boxing match with a total prize of 80 million dollars, Jake Paul's company, which defeated former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson by the judges' unanimous decision, responded to claims that the match was staged.
A statement was made regarding allegations that the match between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson was staged, claiming that both boxers were playing out a script in the fight broadcast live on Netflix.
'A FEDERAL CRIME'
Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), the company organizing Jake Paul's matches, stated that the claims of the historic boxing match being staged are unfounded.
According to NtvSpor, the company stated, "Tampering with a professional boxing match is a federal crime in the United States. The Paul and Tyson match was a professional match approved by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR)"
'THERE WERE NO CONTRACTUAL RESTRICTIONS'
MVP stated, "Both fighters showcased their skills with the intention of winning the fight in good faith. There were no contractual or other restrictions surrounding either fighter. Each boxer was able to use all their strength to win the fight. Any agreement to the contrary would violate TDLR boxing rules."
'INDIRECT COMPLIMENT'
Meanwhile, Paul's business partner Nakisa Bidarian stated, "The claim that the match was rigged is an indirect compliment to Jake Paul."
