Those moments were captured second by second on camera.
In Istanbul's Esenyurt district, two previously feuding parties encountered each other on the street in Balıkyolu neighborhood.
HE DASHED INTO A WORKPLACE TO SAVE HIS LIFE, BUT...
A group of 6-7 people attacked their rival with knives and sticks, and the man dashed into a workplace to save his life. Within seconds, the attackers also entered the workplace with sticks and knives, and the people inside the curtain shop couldn't understand what was happening. Even though he entered the workplace, he couldn't escape the beating and was beaten for minutes.
THE INCIDENT WAS CAUGHT ON CAMERA
The shop owners who intervened in the incident stated that they experienced panic and fear at those moments, and the individuals left the shop as if nothing had happened a while later. Those moments were captured second by second on the workplace security camera.
“WE BACKED OFF WHEN WE SAW THE STICKS AND KNIVES”
Speaking about the incident, the shop owner said, "It happened very spontaneously. A group was chasing another man, and the man dashed into the shop to save his life. At first, we didn't say anything, we tolerated it thinking they would harm him. Then the men also barged into the shop with sticks and knives. They were people who knew each other; they had come with a vehicle. We initially tried to intervene, but when we saw they had sticks and knives, we backed off. A few minutes later, they left the shop as if nothing had happened and continued on."
“WE ARE TRAINED FOR SUCH SITUATIONS”
Stating that similar incidents occur frequently, the shop owner said, "We are trained for such situations in Esenyurt; we've gotten used to it. This kind of incident has become our daily routine; it happens a lot. Since this time it happened in our workplace, it felt a bit different to us."
