When the storm tore apart the salmon cage, citizens flocked to the stream.

Due to the storm that was effective in the Hopa district of Artvin, a fish cage in the sea was broken apart and dragged to the shore. As a result of the damage to the cage, thousands of Turkish salmon were carried into the streams by the current. Upon hearing about the incident, the local people rushed to the Kapisre and Sundura streams with their fishing rods.

WHEN THE CAGE BROKE, THE SALMON WERE CARRIED INTO THE STREAM

A fish cage belonging to a company producing Turkish salmon off the coast of Hopa was severely damaged due to the violent storm. With the tearing of the cage, thousands of salmon fish inside mixed with the sea and reached the Kapisre in Arhavi and the Sundura in Hopa by the current. Citizens who saw the fish began to fish from the early hours of the morning. Many people from Rize and Trabzon, as well as Artvin, came to the riverbank.

Erol Doğancıl, who came from the Yusufeli district, stated that he rushed to the stream after hearing the news that the fish cage was torn, saying, "I heard on the news in the evening that the fish cage was torn. I came here early in the morning. This place is currently a complete chaos. Everyone is by the river and the sea. So far, I have caught 12 fish. There are even people carrying fish in sacks," he said.

Cemil Apaydın, who has been fishing in the stream since the early hours of the morning, said, "I heard that the cage burst. I have been here since the morning, but I could only catch one. I am grateful for that." İhsan Ünal, one of the citizens, evaluated the events by saying, "With the cages bursting from the salmon farms, a large amount of fish came to our streams. We took advantage of the opportunity and caught fish. It was a fruitful catch."

Özkan Mertkaya, one of the fishermen, stated, "Due to the storm, the cages in the sea burst, and the fish rushed into the streams. The anglers came here. We all had a good fishing process," he said.
