During the special session held as part of the 3-day camp program organized by the AK Party in Kızılcahamam, the "Terror-Free Turkey" process was discussed. The session, chaired by AK Party Deputy Chairman Efkan Âlâ, addressed the details of the process, potential risks, and future planning.
"THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO ROOM FOR BARGAINING"
According to a report by Emrah Özcan from Türkiye newspaper; responding to questions from participants such as "What can we expect in the process?", "What kind of tone should be developed?", and "What precautions should be taken against provocations?", Efkan Âlâ stated, "In the past, the will was not dominant over the administration, but now it is fully dominant. There is absolutely no room for bargaining. The sole item of all discussions is the organization's dissolution and laying down arms. Turkey's democratization process should not be reduced to this issue. The AK Party has made significant democratic reforms even in a terrorist environment, and this line continues to this day."
"THERE ARE NO REASONS LEFT FOR THE PROCESS TO FAIL"
During the meeting, evaluations were also made regarding why past resolution process initiatives failed. The factors contributing to the failure were listed as guardianship centers, limited dominance over national will, FETÖ's obstructions, and weak relations with regional countries. However, it was emphasized that the current conditions are different, noting that Turkey has now eliminated guardianship structures, is more effective in foreign policy, and has strengthened its relations with regional countries. In this context, it was stated that there are no longer any obstacles to the successful conclusion of the process.
YAŞAR GÜLER: PKK MEMBERS WHO HAVE NOT BEEN INVOLVED IN CRIMES CAN BE DRAFTED
Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler provided a noteworthy response to the question, "Will members of the organization who have reached military age be drafted?":
"Turkish citizens who are of military age and have not participated in any actions, and who have not fulfilled their military duty, will be drafted. Until now, our Kurdish brothers have not faced any issues in military service; we do not foresee any problems in this regard."
