During the renovation work on the water reservoir in the basement of a 15-story building located in Beylikdüzü, two citizens were poisoned due to chemical substances. One person in the building also fell ill, along with two firefighters who arrived to intervene in the incident. The teams' efforts are ongoing.
During renovation work carried out in the basement of a 15-story block used as a water reservoir in the Büyükşehir neighborhood of Beylikdüzü district in Istanbul, it was suspected that 2 people were poisoned.
2 FIREFIGHTERS WHO ENTERED FOR INTERVENTION ALSO GOT POISONED
Upon notification, health, fire, police, and UMKE teams were dispatched to the scene. 2 firefighters who entered to rescue the 2 individuals suspected of poisoning from the reservoir, as well as 1 person in the building, also fell ill.
SUSPECT OF CHEMICAL SUBSTANCE
5 individuals who were evaluated to have been affected by a chemical substance were taken to the hospital after the initial intervention by health teams. Residents of the building where the incident occurred were also evacuated. The teams' work at the scene is ongoing.
