While discussions about stray animals continue, Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç stated that draft works have been done and sent to the Parliament. Tunç also mentioned the euthanasia formula, saying "These are the topics that will be discussed in the Parliament. We continue to maintain our determination to protect animals."

In recent years, there have been numerous deaths and injuries due to increasing stray dog attacks. This situation has caused public outrage and a call for "precautions" to the government. In this context, the AK Party is preparing for a new regulation regarding stray animals by making amendments to the Animal Protection Law, and Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç announced that the draft work has been submitted to the Parliament.

4 MINISTRIES WORKING ON THE DRAFT

Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç answered questions about the work on stray animals at the AK Party Group Meeting. Tunç stated that draft regulations have been prepared by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Justice, and Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change for the work that will be presented to the evaluation of the members of parliament.

When asked about the issue of putting stray dogs to sleep, Minister Tunç replied, "These are the topics that will be discussed in the Parliament."

"THERE IS CLEARLY A NEED FOR LEGAL REGULATION"

Tunç emphasized their determination in terms of animal protection and said, "We are a government that enacted the Animal Protection Law. We had increased the penalties for those who mistreat animals. Our sensitivity continues. We also need to prevent attacks on children and the elderly. It is clear that there is a need for a legal regulation." Tunç also emphasized the need to protect the balance, saying, "We should protect our animals and eliminate situations that threaten human health."

Bahadır Yenişehirlioğlu, the AK Party Deputy Group Chairman working on the regulation regarding stray animals, said, "We will work for another 10 days. I am listening to all sections of society, there is no finalized regulation yet. We have a proposal and we are working on it."
