35-year-old Hüseyin Kösedağ, living in Abide Neighborhood, which is connected to the center of Ağrı, has been raising turkeys, geese, ducks, and chickens on his farm for 6 years. The bond between Kösedağ and the poultry he raises surprises those who see it.
HUNDREDS COME RUNNING WITH A SINGLE WHISTLE
The animals spread across the vast land gather around Kösedağ at the sound of his whistle. When it's feeding time or time to bring them inside in the evening, hundreds of turkeys, geese, ducks, and chickens come running to him at the sound of Kösedağ's whistle.
"THEY SEE US AS A MOTHER"
Kösedağ, who stated that he has around 500 turkeys, nearly 500 breeding geese, over a thousand ducks, and 300 chickens in his operation, noted that his love for his work is the key to success. Kösedağ said, "You have to do something with love. If you do that job with love, you will get efficiency from every job. We do this job with love. We produce our own animals; we do not buy from outside. Because of this, the animals get used to us and see us as a mother. Because we love the animals, they love us too. We whistle. Sometimes when they wander off or when it's feeding time, they come running when we whistle," he said.
"THE PROFIT IS GOOD TOO"
Kösedağ emphasized the importance of taking good care of the animals, stating, "If they are accustomed, the production of poultry is good. They do not have any disease issues, and if they do, it is very rare. They need to be well taken care of. If they are well taken care of, with clean water and good pastures, the profit from this job is also good," he said.
