In Tekirdağ, at the Marmaraereğlisi coast, and at Kumluk Beach in Datça, Muğla, the seawater has receded meters away from the shore. In a statement regarding the images that caused concern and panic, Dr. İlker Eroğlu, a faculty member at Tekirdağ NKÜ, said, "This situation is a phenomenon that occurs periodically due to the wind blowing consistently in the same direction during certain seasons."
Images recorded along the Marmara and Aegean coasts quickly raised concerns. In Tekirdağ's Marmaraereğlisi beach, the sea water receded by about 10 meters, while in Muğla's Datça district, it receded by nearly 5 meters.
As areas that were previously underwater emerged, citizens recorded those moments with their mobile phones. Following the images, the question "Is an unusual situation occurring?" came to mind, while Dr. İlker Eroğlu, a faculty member at Namık Kemal University, made a clear statement regarding the reason for the receding.
10 METERS RECORDED IN TEKİRDAĞ

As a result of the receding, areas that were previously underwater became visible. Residents of the district recorded the situation that emerged due to the receding of the sea.
"NO NEED FOR CONCERN"
Dr. İlker Eroğlu, a faculty member of the Geography Department at Namık Kemal University (NKÜ), stated that the receding was caused by a meteorological condition. Eroğlu expressed that there is no need for people to feel anxious due to the receding of the sea, saying, "This situation is an event that occurs periodically due to the wind blowing in the same direction during certain seasons. Receding is particularly noticeable in low coastal areas."
