CITIZENS NOTICED
According to the information obtained, citizens who went to the New Cemetery to visit the graves of their relatives noticed suspicious containers inside a plastic barrel used for trash disposal. Checking the containers, the citizens saw that there were human fetuses inside and promptly reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center.
THEY HAVE HOSPITAL LABELS
Following the report, numerous police and crime scene investigation teams were dispatched to the scene. In the initial examination conducted by the teams taking security measures in the area, 21 human fetuses placed in medical storage containers were identified inside the plastic barrel. It was claimed that the containers had labels belonging to Şanlıurfa Training and Research Hospital.
LEFT IN THE BARREL INSTEAD OF BURIED
In the initial investigations, it was alleged that the fetuses, assessed to have died as a result of medical processes such as miscarriages and abortions, were handed over to authorities from the hospital for burial in accordance with legal procedures, but were left in the barrel within the cemetery for an unknown reason.
SENT TO THE FORENSIC MEDICINE INSTITUTION
After the police and the duty prosecutor's examinations at the scene, the 21 human fetuses were taken to the morgue of the Şanlıurfa Forensic Medicine Institution for detailed examination. Security forces are conducting a multi-faceted investigation to identify the person or persons who took the fetuses from the hospital, brought them to the cemetery, and were negligent in not carrying out the burial process.
