In an operation against FETÖ in 11 provinces centered in Istanbul, 52 out of 94 tax inspectors, including those actively serving in the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, were arrested.
The operations carried out by the Istanbul Police Department's Counter-Terrorism Branch, coordinated by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, resulted in the detention of 94 suspects on February 13 in 11 provinces centered around the city.
52 ARRESTED
The suspects, who underwent health checks, were transferred to the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan. After their procedures at the prosecutor's office, 52 suspects were sent to the peace criminal court and arrested. The court decided to impose judicial control measures on 38 suspects. It was learned that 4 of the suspects were released due to benefiting from the effective remorse provisions.
OPERATION
In the work conducted to uncover the actions and activities of the terrorist organization FETÖ/PDY, it was determined that the suspects established connections suitable for organizational communication techniques by using the payphone card system from payphones in booths, which are among the organization's secret communication methods.
It was assessed that the suspects, who had confessions indicating their involvement in actions and activities within the organization, participated in organizational activities, leading to operations in 11 provinces centered around Istanbul to capture 94 tax inspectors who were dismissed and actively serving under the Ministry of Treasury and Finance.
