In Izmir, where heavy rainfall has been effective, the roads have turned into lakes. Parks where citizens walked in the city center were completely submerged. Those moments were captured on camera.

Heavy downpours and strong winds affecting İzmir have paralyzed life in the city. With the rising sea level, the sea overflowed along the Asahil coast, completely submerging walking paths and parks.

ROADS TURNED INTO LAKES

Due to the large puddles formed on many main arteries, drivers were stranded on the roads while pedestrians struggled to move forward.

Municipal teams initiated work across the city to clear blocked drains and drain the water. Ferry services were temporarily suspended due to adverse weather conditions, and authorities warned citizens to be cautious against floods and water inundations. The rain is expected to continue its impact in the evening hours.
