In an operation against the terrorist organization ISIS conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, 67 out of 147 suspects, including 41 individuals identified as having connections to the organization members in Yalova who martyred 3 of our police officers, were arrested.
In Istanbul, 67 of the 72 suspects brought to court in the operation against the terrorist organization ISIS were arrested.
67 ARRESTS IN THE ISIS OPERATION IN ISTANBUL
The interrogation procedures of the suspects, who were detained in the investigation against the terrorist organization ISIS and taken to the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan, have been completed by the peace criminal court.
41 CONNECTED TO THE ATTACKERS IN YALOVA
The court decided to arrest 67 of the 72 suspects for whom arrest was requested, while judicial control measures were applied to 48 suspects. It was determined that 41 of the arrested suspects were connected to the organization members in Yalova, who martyred 3 of our police officers.
On the other hand, 32 suspects who were detained were handed over to the repatriation center to be deported due to posing a threat to the country.
DETAILS OF THE INVESTIGATION
In a statement made by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was stated that an investigation was being conducted to uncover the members and activities of the terrorist organization ISIS, following the instructions given to the Istanbul Police Department's Counter-Terrorism Branch.
The statement included findings regarding M.Y., who was conducting activities in Istanbul as a supporter of the terrorist organization, acting as the so-called leader of the organization, organizing illegal lesson-discussion events, and conducting outreach activities aimed at gaining support for the terrorist organization within the scope of illegal mosque activities:
"41 suspects, who are connected to the individuals who carried out the heinous attack in Yalova and have information suggesting they could engage in similar attacks on New Year's Day in our province, 13 suspects who are linked to the terrorist organization and have evidence regarding this matter, 14 suspects who made pro-terrorist organization posts on social media platforms, and a total of 115 suspects were targeted for capture in our province and 2 different provinces for simultaneous capture, detention, search, and seizure operations at 114 addresses as of December 30, 2025, at 01:00, resulting in the capture of 110 suspects."
