The United States Geological Survey (USGS) announced that an earthquake occurred 12 kilometers north of the Yujing area in southwestern Taiwan.



The earthquake that occurred 10 kilometers deep in the Yujing area of southwestern Taiwan was determined to have a magnitude of 6.



According to initial reports, there were no casualties from the earthquake.



Taiwan fire officials announced that 6 people were rescued with minor injuries from a collapsed house in Tainan County, located in the south of the island.



Authorities stated that a bridge was damaged due to the earthquake.



The Central Weather Bureau of Taiwan announced that the magnitude of the earthquake was 6.4.
