A tsunami warning was issued following the 7.6 magnitude earthquake that occurred off the coast of Japan. The warning indicated that wave heights could reach up to 3 meters.
A 7.6 magnitude earthquake occurred off the coast of Misawa, Japan.
NO CASUALTIES OR DAMAGE
The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported that the epicenter of the earthquake was located 73 kilometers northeast of the Misawa area in Aomori Prefecture. No casualties or damage have been reported due to the earthquake.
TSUNAMI WARNING
A tsunami warning was issued following the 7.6 magnitude earthquake recorded at a depth of approximately 53 kilometers. The warning indicated that wave heights could reach up to 3 meters and could hit the shore multiple times.
The Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) and local emergency units urged the public to stay away from the coasts and river mouths at risk of flooding.
