In response, Dedetaş said, "I am not bothered by the mention of either our President or the CHP's presidential candidate İmamoğlu. I also do not find it right for our President's name to be used as a political tool in this way."
During the speech of Mayor Sinem Dedetaş at the Üsküdar Municipal Council, slogans were exchanged. The tension in the hall ended with Dedetaş's call for moderation before it escalated.
MUTUAL SLOGANS
During the speech of Mayor Sinem Dedetaş at the Üsküdar Municipal Council Meeting, slogans of "Recep Tayyip Erdoğan" rose from the audience. In response, another group chanted "President İmamoğlu".
DECISION TO EMPTY THE HALL WAS WITHDRAWN
In light of the developments, the council president requested the group that initiated the first slogan to be removed from the hall. However, Sinem Dedetaş intervened and prevented this decision, helping to calm the atmosphere.
WORDS THAT LEFT A MARK ON THE HALL
In her speech, Sinem Dedetaş stated that she was not disturbed by the mention of any political name and used the following expressions:
"I am not disturbed by the chanting of our esteemed President. I don't think anyone here would be either. I also don't believe anyone would be disturbed by the mention of the CHP's presidential candidate, Mr. Ekrem İmamoğlu. I do not find it right for our esteemed President's name to be used as political material in this way here.
I have expressed this before. I am reiterating it again. This is Üsküdar Municipality. We are here to present the activity report of the council members. We all have values, we all have worth. Our religious values, our spiritual values, they are all our values. We own all of them. Therefore, please let’s be respectful to each other. Let’s not turn this place into a chanting area; we will make a presentation, if you allow."
REACTION TO THE ÜSKÜDAR MUNICIPALITY OPERATION
In her speech, Dedetaş reacted to the operations against Üsküdar Municipality, saying, "This municipality was not established two years ago; it has a history. While no criminal complaints made by the council members here regarding the municipality's past have been taken into account, we are being targeted. Look, let us go through the inspection again; we have passed six inspectors so far, let’s pass six hundred more. There is no problem. We have been here for two years. Comparing our two years with the activities carried out since the establishment of the municipality is not very realistic. I am also curious, was this municipality established two years ago? I wish better services had been provided in the past so that we wouldn't have to fill so many pits right now," she said. Dedetaş stated that the images of money do not reflect the truth and are proven with receipts, saying that 40% of the municipality's revenue each month is deducted for the debts of the previous term.
