The Miyazaki Airport, located in Miyazaki Prefecture, Japan, was the scene of a frightening incident. According to local authorities, an explosion was reported around 08:00 local time in the section of the taxiway between the runway and the apron.

FLIGHTS SUSPENDED AS A PRECAUTION

While a large number of police and fire teams were dispatched to the scene, investigations revealed that a crater with a diameter of 7 meters and a depth of 1 meter had formed. There were no fatalities or injuries in the incident, but all flights were suspended as a precaution. A detailed investigation into the incident has been initiated.

CLAIM OF WORLD WAR II AMMUNITION

In response to the possibility of unexploded military ammunition from World War II being found on the runway, it was announced that a bomb disposal team from the Japan Self-Defense Forces (SDF) stationed in Saga Prefecture was sent to Miyazaki Airport.
