İş." STATEMENT FROM RTÜK PRESIDENT ŞAHİNThe President of the Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK), Ebubekir Şahin, stated that the media's dissemination of unverified information and reporting various allegations regarding the case of Narin Güran, an 8-year-old who went missing in Diyarbakır, undermines the sensitivity of an incident involving a child. In a post on his social media account, Şahin said, "The search efforts for little Narin continue with the meticulous follow-up of our security forces. During this process, moderation is necessary for the healthy progress of the investigation and effective interventions. The media's dissemination of unverified information and reporting various allegations undermines the sensitivity of an incident involving a child. We kindly request all broadcasters to comply with the publication ban imposed to protect the family and ensure the effective conduct of the investigations." BACKGROUND OF THE INCIDENTIn the rural Tavşantepe neighborhood of the Bağlar district, Narin Güran, who went to a Quran course in the afternoon of August 21, did not return home, so her family conducted a search on their own. When no results were obtained from the search conducted with the villagers, Narin's father, Arif Güran, went to the gendarmerie station on the same day around 8:00 PM and reported that his daughter was missing. Following the report, the Bağlar District Gendarmerie Command, Bağlar Security Commando Battalion, Gendarmerie Special Operations teams, Gendarmerie Criminal Investigation Teams (JASAT), Intelligence Branch Directorate, Dog Tracking Team, and Underwater Search and Rescue Team, as well as search and rescue teams from the health department, AFAD, and the Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality, were dispatched to the area. Helicopters belonging to the gendarmerie and the Provincial Police Department also provided aerial support during the operations. Additionally, approximately 150 vehicles that were determined to have passed through the area during the hours when Narin went missing were investigated. Searches were conducted in houses in the neighborhood and in vehicles entering the village. So far, a total of 12,565 vehicles have been searched, statements have been taken from 130 individuals, 32,952 people have been checked, searches have been conducted in an area of more than 11,000 acres with the help of 7 tracking dogs, and the last footage of Narin before she went missing has also been revealed. The footage from the school on August 21 at 3:15 PM shows Narin walking with 4 friends and then separating from them to take the hill road towards her home.
