U.S. President Donald Trump spoke at the Gaza Peace Summit, where he met with world leaders in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt. In his statement, Trump praised Erdoğan and noted that he has always supported him. However, the President of the Greek Cypriot Administration, Nikos Christodoulides, and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis did not applaud Trump's remarks.

Historic agreements were signed at the summit on Gaza in Egypt, attended by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The USA, Turkey, Qatar, and Egypt signed a letter of intent for peace in Gaza. Before the signing of the document, Trump thanked President Erdoğan, saying, "He never let us down."

TRUMP THANKS ERDOĞAN

Continuing his remarks, Trump addressed President Erdoğan, saying, "His army is much stronger than what he says. If you look at some of the recent processes, he was winning, but he doesn't want any praise. He is a tough guy, but he is my friend and has always been there for me when I needed him. Therefore, I want to thank President Erdoğan."

Thanking Erdoğan, Trump said, "We have had a good relationship with Erdoğan from the very beginning. Whenever I needed him, Erdoğan was there." Trump expressed that today is a monumental day for world history beyond the Middle East, stating, "The Third World War will not come from the Middle East."

We are pursuing a comprehensive vision for peace, security, and shared prosperity in the region, based on the principles of mutual respect and common destiny. In this spirit, we welcome the progress made in establishing comprehensive and lasting peace arrangements in the Gaza Strip and the friendly and mutually beneficial relations between Israel and its regional neighbors. By working together to implement and sustain this legacy, we commit to laying inspiring foundations for future generations to develop together in peace. We are committed to a future of lasting peace."
