A comment from a Future Party representative highlighting the detention of Ümit Özdağ.

The investigation initiated ex officio against Özdağ regarding the statements he made about President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan during the provincial chairpersons consultation meeting of his party held on January 19 by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office is ongoing.

HE WAS DETAINED IN ANKARA

Özdağ was detained in Ankara as part of the investigation. It has been learned that Ümit Özdağ will be brought to Istanbul by the security forces. Furthermore, it has been reported that the investigation initiated against Özdağ by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has also been expanded regarding the crime of "inciting the public to hatred and hostility."

Future Party Denizli Deputy Sema Silkin Ün made the following statements on her social media account after Ümit Özdağ's detention:
