According to information obtained from Önsen Neighborhood in the Onikişubat district of Kahramanmaraş, Arif S. (26) began to drive in the opposite direction during road median work with the excavator.

The construction vehicle struck 2-year-old Hatice and 8-year-old Ali Karagün, who were trying to cross the road at that moment. Hatice lost her life at the scene, while Ali was severely injured and taken by ambulance to Kahramanmaraş State Hospital. After the accident, the driver of the construction vehicle, Arif S., was detained by gendarmerie teams.
