These people should not even pass by my workplace" shared on her social media account. Melek Karahan, known for her resemblance to American movie star Marilyn Monroe and called 'Mardinli Monroe', claimed that she beat her newly operated dog after a dispute with some people and shared a video on her social media account saying, "I hate Kızıltepe, Urfa, Viranşehir, Ceylanpınar. These people should not even pass by my workplace." Karahan, in another video shared in response to the reactions, said, "I always say; I don't like people who don't love animals. Those who don't love animals cannot love nature, they become very selfish. They are very dangerous people. So stay away from those people. If they are applying violence to an animal or a woman, they are very dangerous. There are already posts, smear campaigns. Do you not care at all? Kızıltepe, Viranşehir, Ceylanpınar, Urfa; I don't want you, don't come. Don't come to my workplace to take photos. You are of no use to me."

"WE KNOW THAT SHE DOESN'T LIKE THE PEOPLE OF MARDIN"

Gurbet Bilbay, one of the lawyers of Mardin Bar Association, filed a criminal complaint against Melek Karahan for 'Insult' and 'Offending the honor, dignity, and respect of a person'. Bilbay, who said that she filed a criminal complaint on behalf of the people of Mardin, said, "We expect support from our people. We have already started a signature campaign regarding this. We know that she doesn't like the people of Mardin. Their insults and offenses towards us never end and we want the necessary actions to be taken regarding this."

"I SAID IT OUT OF ANGER, I APOLOGIZE"

Melek Karahan, who stated that she shared these videos after a dispute with someone from Kızıltepe, expressed her regret for making a generalization by mentioning the names of the cities and apologized to the animal lovers in those settlements. Karahan said the following:

"When I was going home after work, I saw someone from Kızıltepe throwing a stone at the street dog that I recently had surgery on, so I asked, 'Why are you throwing it?' He said, 'I'm throwing it to protect myself.' I said, 'What did this dog do to you?' That's when our argument started. My daughter was hit. I went a little further up and took a video. I said, 'I don't like regions like Kızıltepe, Viranşehir, Ceylanpınar, Urfa because they don't love animals.' I said, 'Don't come to my workplace.' Of course, later on, some local news websites took this video and started a propaganda against me, inciting threats and insults towards me. I filed a criminal complaint regarding this. I didn't insult or curse them. I just said, 'Don't come to my workplace.' I'm sorry for generalizing. The good people there told me, 'Melek Hanım, we know what you're going through.' I am attacked every day. When I leave home in the morning, I think, 'What will happen to me today, who will beat me, my cat, and my dog?' I live with this psychology. My child's psychology has also been affected."
