A fine of 14,310 lira will be imposed for exhaust emission measurement.

It has been reported that a fine of 14,310 lira will be imposed on those who do not comply with exhaust emission measurements. This new regulation has been introduced to prevent air pollution and protect environmental health. Citizens are strongly urged to be more careful in this matter and to have the necessary measurements done on time.

The Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change has increased the administrative fines for 2025 by the revaluation rate, which is 43.93%. According to the decision published in the Official Gazette, the lowest fine is set at 14,310 TL, while the highest fine is determined to be 114,584 TL.

The communiqué regarding the Administrative Fines to be Imposed in Accordance with the Environmental Law No. 2872 was published in the Official Gazette by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change. With this communiqué, the monetary fines to be imposed in 2025 for violations of the Environmental Law have been increased by the revaluation rate of 43.93%.

VALID FROM JANUARY 1

The decision states, "The purpose of this communiqué is to determine the administrative fines regulated in Articles 33, 38, 51, and 562 of the Turkish Commercial Code No. 6102 dated 13/1/2011, increased by the revaluation rate of 43.93% (forty-three point ninety-three) as determined in the General Communiqué of the Tax Procedure Law published in the Official Gazette No. 32735 dated 27/11/2024 for the year 2024."

According to the decisions, the new rates for fines will be valid from January 1, 2025.

LOWEST AND HIGHEST FINE

With the decision, fines for violations that harm the environment have been increased by 43.93% for the year 2025. According to the law, the lowest fine is set at 14,310 TL, while the highest fine is determined to be 114,584 TL.

14,310 TL FINE FOR EXHAUST EMISSION MEASUREMENT

The fine of 9,943 TL imposed on those who do not have exhaust emission measurements will be applied as 14,310 TL in 2025.

6,923 TL FINE FOR POLLUTING THE ENVIRONMENT

The fine imposed on those who cause environmental pollution in public areas has also been increased from 4,810 TL in 2024 to 6,923 TL.

Additionally, fines will be imposed on sales points that provide plastic bags free of charge in violation of the relevant regulations or do not comply with the rules set by the Ministry. In such violations, a fine of 114.55 TL will be imposed for each square meter outside the storage area, while those selling in electronic environments will face fines ranging from 20,771 TL to 207,747 TL.
