CHP spokesperson Deniz Yücel stated that the convention case is "doomed to be rejected," reminding that the plaintiff Lütfü Savaş has been expelled from the party. Yücel described Gürsel Tekin as "a poor soul who has become a plaything in the hands of the AKP judiciary," and mentioned that Ekrem İmamoğlu has been detained without an indictment for 178 days.
Republican People's Party (CHP) Spokesperson Deniz Yücel made statements regarding the agenda following the Central Executive Board (MYK) meeting. Referring to the CHP Congress case seen today at the 42nd Civil Court of First Instance in Ankara, which has been postponed to October 24, Yücel emphasized that the case is "doomed to be rejected."
THE PLAINTIFF IS NOT A CHP MEMBER, BUT EXPELLED Yücel recalled that the case was filed by former Hatay Metropolitan Mayor Lütfi Savaş, stating, "This person was expelled from our party a long time ago. Therefore, he does not even have the right to file a lawsuit. Those who file these lawsuits are not CHP members; they are the apparatus of the government," he said.
HARSH WORDS FOR GÜRSEL TEKİN Speaking about Gürsel Tekin, who was appointed as a trustee to the CHP Istanbul Provincial Presidency, Yücel described him as "a miserable person who has taken on the role of 'big brother' but has become a toy in the hands of the AKP judiciary." Stating that "no CHP member enters their family home accompanied by police," Yücel characterized the entry of riot police into the provincial headquarters as an "occupation image."
CHP Spokesperson Deniz Yücel "İMAMOĞLU HAS BEEN ILLEGALLY DETAINED FOR 178 DAYS" Yücel stated that Istanbul Metropolitan Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu has been detained without an indictment for 178 days, saying, "Those who cannot face him at the ballot box are engineering politics through a manipulated judiciary."
CRITICISM OF THE ARRESTS OF CHP MAYORS Recalling that they won 26 municipalities in Istanbul in the local elections, Yücel said, "10 of our mayors have been arrested through various traps. Most recently, our Bayrampaşa Mayor Hasan Mutlu was taken into custody. Our Şişli Mayor Resul Emrah Şahan was arrested for the second time when the possibility of his release arose. This situation shows the tragic point to which the law has come," he stated.
CRITICISMS OF EDUCATION AND ECONOMY Yücel described the statements of Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin regarding 12 years of compulsory education as a "reactionary project," arguing that the government's education policies "increase child poverty."
In his assessment of the economy, Yücel defined the Medium-Term Program as "disconnected from reality, an election brochure," stating, "The AKP sacrificed the economy to rent-seeking and burdened the people."
"CHP IS STANDING TALL" Yücel stated that the decisions for an extraordinary congress and congress of the CHP were a "legal and technical move" taken against the pressures of the government, saying, "With the will of our delegates, we will hold our extraordinary congress on September 21 and our extraordinary Istanbul Provincial Congress on September 24. CHP is standing tall," he expressed.
Yücel concluded his remarks by saying, "Our faith is as high as it was on the first day, and our determination to fight is even greater. Sovereignty unconditionally belongs to the nation."
