The Spanish Ministry of Defense has canceled two major arms contracts worth approximately 1 billion euros, including the Silam rocket launcher system with Israeli companies.

According to the Spanish news agency, the Spanish Ministry of Defense has canceled two major arms contracts with a total value of approximately 1 billion euros. The canceled agreements include the 700 million euro Silam rocket launcher system and the 287.5 million euro Spike L.R. anti-tank missile system.

ALTERNATIVE SOLUTIONS ARE BEING SOUGHT

The official notification of the cancellation decision was published on the Spanish public procurement platform (Plataforma de Contratación). The ministry reported that negotiations are being held for the replacement of these systems by the domestic industry and that alternative solutions are being sought.
