A shocking incident occurred at Oxford Circus Metro Station in the heart of London. A 24-year-old homeless man, Brwa Shorsh, pushed 60-year-old Tadeusz Potoczek onto the metro tracks. The incident took place on February 3, as a train was approaching the station.
Shorsh claimed that he carried out the attack because he thought Potoczek was "looking at him badly." Fortunately, Potoczek did not hit the electrified track and was rescued by a brave passenger.
The court found Shorsh guilty of attempted murder and sentenced him to life in prison. He will serve at least 8 years behind bars.
Prosecutor Maxine Jarrousse-Jones stated, "Such attacks are never acceptable. Passengers should be able to travel safely."
The hero of the incident, the passenger who saved Potoczek, was awarded £1,000 for his bravery.
This incident once again highlighted the importance of safety in public transportation. Authorities plan to increase security measures to prevent similar incidents from occurring.
