In İzmir, a jeweler named İsmail K. is being sought by the police on the allegation that he fled with the gold he collected from his customers and colleagues. A victim, Tahsin Adıgüzel, stated: "We had given a bracelet worth 5,000 TL for repair. When we came in the evening, we learned that he had fled." İsmail K., who has been operating a jewelry store in a business center in the Karşıyaka district for about 10 years, allegedly disappeared with the gold he collected from his customers and colleagues. Customers who came to the store realized they had been defrauded when they found the shop closed and empty. Seven customers, who could not reach İsmail K., reported to the police, claiming that their gold had been stolen. "HE HAD NEVER MADE A MISTAKE BEFORE"Customers stated in their testimonies that they had given their gold and jewelry to İ.K. for repair or investment purposes, and when they arrived at the store, they saw that it had been emptied and they could not reach him, so they filed a complaint. The police have initiated efforts to capture İsmail K. A search was conducted at İsmail K.'s home and workplace after a warrant was issued for his arrest. While efforts to capture İsmail K. continue, Tahsin Adıgüzel, one of the alleged victims, said: "He had never made a mistake before. We had given a bracelet worth 5,000 TL for repair. When we came in the evening, we learned that he had fled." Adıgüzel also stated that he has not yet filed a complaint against İsmail K. but indicated that he would do so.
