The center of Motorola's return plan to Turkey is İndeks Bilgisayar, one of the country's leading technology distribution companies. The company announced that it has started official negotiations with Lenovo Ireland International Ltd. for the distribution of Motorola-branded smartphones and accessories.
A KAP NOTIFICATION HAS ARRIVED
This development was announced to the public with a notification made to the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP) on October 30. According to the statement, these negotiations represent the first official step in Motorola's return process to the Turkish market.
LENOVO MANAGER ALSO CONFIRMED THE PLAN
The Lenovo Turkey Country Manager also confirmed Motorola's return plans. The official stated, "I have previously expressed that the likelihood of bringing our Motorola-branded smartphones to Turkey is high. Now this process has officially begun," announcing the start of the return process.
It has not yet been finalized which models Motorola will enter the Turkish market with. However, the globally notable Razr 50 Ultra, Edge 50 Pro, and ThinkPhone by Motorola models are expected to be available for sale in Turkey. These models, especially with their foldable screen technology and flagship hardware features, could increase competition in Turkey.
Having ended its operations in Turkey in 2015-2016, Motorola is now re-emerging under the Lenovo umbrella and with strong distribution channels. The brand aims to fill the gap it left in the past and establish a long-lasting presence. Following the withdrawal of brands like LG and Nokia from the technology world, Motorola's return has created excitement in the industry. For technology enthusiasts in Turkey, this return could reshape the competitive dynamics of the market.
