The decision has been made in the case filed by player Deniz Uğur Gülener against journalist Reha Muhtar for the custody of their twin children. The Istanbul 14th Family Court ruled that the custody of the children should be granted to the mother after a long-standing case.
Gülener, who has been fighting a legal battle for the custody of her children P.D.M. and M.D.M. against her ex-husband Reha Muhtar, won the case. The verdict hearing was held closed to the press and the public.
LIMITED VISITATION RIGHTS FOR REHA MUHTAR
The court decided that Reha Muhtar could see his children on the first and third Saturdays of each month between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM, as well as on Father's Day from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
After the announcement of the decision, Reha Muhtar stated that he has fulfilled his responsibilities as a father, saying, "I have paid all the fees for the private schools. I have done all my duties. I have covered all their expenses."

On the other hand, Deniz Uğur Gülener's lawyer Feyza Altun stated in a written statement, "My client and I have been fighting a legal battle for years, subjected to various slanders, plots, and smear campaigns by Reha Muhtar. Today, we are in the rightful victory of this struggle. The custody of the children has been granted to their mother, Deniz Uğur, in line with the best interests of the children, and the father's overnight visitation rights have been restricted. Both the children and my client are extremely pleased with the decision. Justice has been served."
