In Syria, opposition forces captured footage of Mahir Assad, the brother of Bashar Assad, in his luxurious bunker built dozens of meters underground at his home in Damascus.

The 61-year Ba'ath regime came to an end with the opposition's takeover of the capital Damascus in Syria. Syrian President Bashar al-Assad fled the country after the events, but it remains unclear where he went. After the collapse of the Syrian regime and Assad's flight from the country, numerous images were released showing Syrians and opposition members entering the properties of the Assad family in various cities of the country.

LUXURY BUNKER FOUND IN MAHIR ASSAD'S HOUSE

Opposition members who entered the house of Mahir Assad, Assad's younger brother and the commander of the elite 4th Armored Division, filmed a luxury bunker built dozens of meters underground in his home in Damascus. In the video, the person entering the bunker can be heard saying that the location is the second floor beneath the house, and that there are many doors and tunnels underground. The footage showed that the bunker contained rooms such as a kitchen, living room, and bathroom. The video was shared by Abdullah Almousa, a Syrian journalist, on X with the words, "The underground tombs of Mahir Assad's house in Damascus. Digging dozens of meters underground, fearing the people."
