With the decision published in the Official Gazette, changes have been made to the Organ Transplant Services Regulation. Accordingly, organ donation procedures can now be carried out through e-Government and e-Health. Additionally, relatives of individuals who donate organs will be given priority during the transplantation process.

Important steps have been taken to accelerate the organ donation process with the regulation titled "Regulation Amending the Regulation on Organ Transplantation Services" published in the Official Gazette. The regulation prepared by the Ministry of Health came into effect today.

ORGAN DONATION DECLARATIONS CAN BE MADE THROUGH E-GOVERNMENT

Citizens can now make their organ donation declarations through e-Government or e-Pulse. The transactions will be completed after identity verification with an electronic signature, mobile signature, or e-Government password, followed by a two-step security process. Additionally, declarations can be changed at any time through the same platforms.

THEY WILL BE NOTIFIED THROUGH E-PULSE

When an organ donation declaration is made, the individuals designated by the donor will be notified of this information through e-Pulse. According to the new regulation, spouses and first-degree relatives of individuals who donate organs will be prioritized on the waiting list after urgent patients if they need an organ transplant.

THE DONOR CAN DESIGNATE AN AUTHORIZED PERSON

Donors can authorize one of their spouse, child, mother, father, or sibling to ensure the validity of their will after death; if these individuals are not available, they can designate a close relative. If there are differing opinions within the family, the will of the person designated by the donor will be taken as the basis.

If there is no declaration or authorization, the current practice will continue, and the approval of one of the spouse, adult child, mother, father, or sibling will be sought for the transplant. The regulation will be effective from today, and the implementation will be carried out by the Minister of Health.

A new era in organ donation! Now it can be done through e-Government and e-Pulse
