In the Haber.com studio, Sonay Dikkaya, a news anchor who has been meeting the audience on screen for over 20 years, shared unknown aspects of her life as a guest on the program "Haber Bahane," hosted by Gökay Kalaycıoğlu. The experienced figure, who has presented the Main News Bulletin and late-night news for many years, candidly shared both the turning points in her career and the significant breaks she experienced in her personal life.
Starting her screen journey at a young age by acting in commercials, Dikkaya stated that despite her disciplined work life, she experienced many disappointments in her personal life. Dikkaya expressed that her biggest trauma was losing her father at a young age, saying, "I lost my dad when I was 19. He stayed in intensive care for three months. During that time, I dropped to 37 kilos. My father left in three months, while my son came out of intensive care after three months. I still listen to my son's breath today," sharing the deep pain she experienced.
STRIKING WORDS ABOUT HER EX-HUSBAND In the program, Sonay Dikkaya made sincere statements about her personal life and used striking expressions regarding her ex-husband, musician Ufuk Yıldırım, from whom she divorced in 2009. Dikkaya stated that they could not find happiness in their marriage, noting that her biggest disappointment was his indifference towards their son, Şan.
"WE WERE GOOD AS FRIENDS BUT NOT SUCCESSFUL IN MARRIAGE" Describing the early years of their marriage, Dikkaya said, "We had a lot of fun; we understood each other wonderfully as friends. People found us very funny. But as a couple, we were never successful; we couldn't manage it."
"HE DID NOT FULFILL HIS RESPONSIBILITIES AS A FATHER" Expressing that all the burden fell on her after the marriage ended, Dikkaya said, "Şan was very attached to his father, but they became estranged. His father chose his own life. In my opinion, he was very little involved. I could not receive any material or moral support. I am a very tired mother; I spent 18 years alone with my son," sharing the difficulties she faced.
"I ALWAYS STAYED SILENT" Continuing her grievances towards her ex-husband, Dikkaya stated, "I was always the one who had to show tolerance, the one who had to stay silent. What I said was of no use. Everyone already knows everything; I don't need to say it," she expressed.
