Sezai Gülmez, the owner of the famous Çiçek Bar in Beyoğlu, Istanbul, was the target of an assassination attempt in Uskumruköy, Sarıyer. During the attack, Gülmez's driver was injured by a bullet that struck his leg, while the businessman stated in his testimony at the police station, "I had previous conflicts with certain individuals. I heard that a reward of 1 million dollars would be given to whoever kills me."
The owner of Çiçek Bar, one of the famous places in Beyoğlu, Sezai Gülmez, was shot in a gun attack yesterday in Sarıyer Uskumruköy.
Sezai Gülmez, who is also the former president of the Karaköy Tradesmen's Association, was making the final preparations to go on vacation with his family yesterday. While the Gülmez family was preparing to load their belongings into the vehicle, Sezai Gülmez's driver, Enes Dağın, was also helping the family at that time.
4 GUNSHOTS HEARD
At around 4:00 PM, as the Gülmez family was about to leave the house, 4 gunshots were heard. Sezai Gülmez ran outside as soon as he heard the gunshots. Gülmez saw Enes Dağın lying on the ground, shot.
WENT TO THE POLICE STATION AND GAVE A STATEMENT
It was understood that at least one of the bullets hit Dağın's leg. After Enes Dağın was taken to the hospital, Sezai Gülmez went to the Zekeriyaköy Gendarmerie Station to give a statement.
"THEY SAY THEY WILL GIVE A 1 MILLION DOLLAR REWARD FOR WHOEVER KILLS ME"
Sezai Gülmez stated that he has been in conflict with a criminal organization for a long time, saying, "I had individuals I had conflicts with before. I heard that a reward of 1 million dollars will be given for whoever kills me."
IN ONE CASE, HE IS THE DEFENDANT AND IN ANOTHER, THE COMPLAINANT
On the other hand, it was understood that Sezai Gülmez had previously been targeted in a gun attack at his workplace, and the assailant was caught. Until a few years ago, Sezai Gülmez had several entertainment venues in Karaköy and is also the owner of Çiçek Bar, one of the most well-known places in Beyoğlu.
There is a case in which Sezai Gülmez is being tried as a defendant at the Istanbul Heavy Criminal Court. Another case file in which Gülmez is a complainant is at the Bakırköy Heavy Criminal Court. The proceedings for both case files are ongoing.
