A Turkish group heading to Mecca for Umrah was hit by a bus: There are dead and injured.

As a result of a ring bus hitting a Turkish pilgrim group in Mecca, 1 Turkish citizen lost their life and 2 others were injured. An investigation has been initiated regarding the incident, while Turkey's Consulate in Jeddah is monitoring the process.

One of the shuttle buses transporting pilgrims from hotels to the Haram al-Sharif in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, was involved in an accident at the tunnel entrance in the Mahbes al-Jinn area. The out-of-control bus hit a group of Turkish pilgrims who were trying to cross the road to get to their hotels.

1 TURKISH PILGRIM LOST HIS LIFE

In the accident that occurred near the Mahbes Garage, Abidin Dağköy, registered in Sakarya, lost his life at the scene. Emine Dağköy and Birol Yalçın, who were injured in the accident, were taken to the hospital by ambulances for treatment.

INVESTIGATION INITIATED

While Saudi authorities have launched an investigation into the accident, Turkey's Consulate General in Jeddah also took action following the incident. Consulate officials stated that the necessary diplomatic and health processes have been initiated and that contact has been established with the families of the deceased and the injured.
