The partner of the People's Alliance, BBP Chairman Mustafa Destici, reacted to the minimum wage announced as 28,075 lira. Destici stated, "The minimum wage is not a charity; it is the result of hard work. The announced figure does not reflect the value of hard work."
The marathon of negotiations for the minimum wage increase has ended with the third meeting of the commission. After the last meeting of the Minimum Wage Determination Commission, Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan announced that the net minimum wage for 2026 is 28,075 Turkish Lira, and the gross amount is 33,030 Turkish Lira.
COMMENT FROM DESTICI ON MINIMUM WAGE
Minister Işıkhan stated, "We are improving the Minimum Wage Support to strengthen our registered employment and working life. We are increasing the Minimum Wage Support to 1,270 Turkish Lira as of 2026."
"THE EARNED INCOME HAS NOT BEEN REFLECTED"
