The leader of the CHP, Özgür Özel, commented on President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's statement that "there will be no early elections," saying, "He should ask, let him go out to the streets and see. I invite Erdoğan, who loves the comfort of indoors and warmth, to go out and ask the voters."
After President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan closed the doors to the opposition's early election demands, CHP Chairman Özgür Özel made a statement, saying, "Let him ask, let him go out and see. I invite Erdoğan, who loves the hall and warmth, to go out and ask the voters."
CHP Chairman Özgür Özel responded to President Erdoğan's statements about early elections. Reacting to Erdoğan's words, "There is no such demand or problem in the country," Özel said, "He must be referring to the countries he has visited. There probably isn't one in Malaysia or somewhere. But we have it here. Welcome to our midst."
"I INVITE HIM TO ASK THE VOTERS"
Continuing his statement, Özel said, "Let him ask, let him go out and see. I invite Erdoğan, who loves the hall and warmth, to go out and ask the voters." He added, "There are already surveys that have been conducted. There are polls that go to all parties, to which we are all subscribers. Let him see how the demand for early elections, which was around 30% and 25% on March 31, has now skyrocketed. Some show 65, some show 70."
"LET HIM GO OUT AND SEE"
Özel also stated, "If Mr. Erdoğan says, 'There is no demand for early elections from the people,' let him go down and ask the retirees who are facing exorbitant prices in the market. Let him go and ask the minimum wage earners who can't even pass in front of the butcher's shop. Or let him go and ask the tradesmen who can't collect their credit notes. Let him ask the tea producers, hazelnut producers, and pistachio producers who sell their products below cost. Let him go out and see. Let him come out of the warm hall."
WHAT DID ERDOĞAN SAY?
President Erdoğan answered journalists' questions on the plane returning from his visits to Malaysia, Indonesia, and Pakistan. Responding to a question about the opposition's demand for early elections, Erdoğan said, "They lie down and get up, saying 'election in the election, election in the election.' But why elections? There is no such problem in Turkey. The AK Party organization is preparing as if there will be an election tomorrow, with its chairman and candidate. Keeping this on the agenda, provoking it is definitely not in our plans or programs."
