Mehmet Ağar responded to criticisms regarding his meeting with members of the judiciary at a dinner in Uludağ by saying, "This was a celebratory dinner; state matters were not discussed." He also denied the allegation that the Chief Public Prosecutor of Bursa was dismissed due to the photo.
Former Interior Minister Mehmet Ağar spoke to Gerçek Gündem writer Seyhan Avşar after a photo taken with members of the judiciary in Uludağ became a topic of discussion. Ağar reacted to the public debate over the dinner, stating that the meeting was not a political or bureaucratic meeting as claimed.
"IT WAS A CELEBRATION DINNER"
Ağar recalled that Hayri Yazıcı, the owner of the Grand Yazıcı Hotel where the dinner took place, had recovered after a long health treatment, emphasizing that the meeting was a "celebration dinner." Ağar said, "Hayri Yazıcı was intubated for 9 months. Once he recovered, he gathered his friends at the same table. It was a celebration dinner. Would a state matter be discussed at such a crowded table? We couldn't even talk to some people at the table," he stated.
"I KNOW THE REASON FOR HIS REMOVAL, BUT..."
Following the emergence of the photo, Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor Ramazan Solmaz's relocation due to a HSK decision drew attention. When Avşar reminded him of this situation, Ağar denied the claim that Solmaz was removed due to the photo. Regarding the issue, Ağar said, "Why would they be uncomfortable with me? The Chief Prosecutor of Bursa was not removed because of that photo. I know the reason for his removal, but it wouldn't be appropriate for me to say," he expressed.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, a photo of Mehmet Ağar (1), former HSK member Ömür Topaç (3) who was elected from the CHP quota during Kılıçdaroğlu's term, İYİ Party Yozgat Deputy Lütfullah Kayalar (4), and Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor Ramazan Solmaz (2) along with his lawyer son Ali Faruk Solmaz dining together had caused a significant stir.
