After the appointment of trustees to the municipalities of Batman, Mardin, and Halfeti today, following the Esenyurt Municipality of Istanbul, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) President Ekrem İmamoğlu requested meetings with the leaders of all political parties outside the AK Party in his capacity as the president of the Union of Turkish Municipalities. It has been reported that among the names İmamoğlu has requested to meet are the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Numan Kurtulmuş, and the leader of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), Devlet Bahçeli.
The Ministry of Interior appointed trustees to the municipalities of Batman, Mardin, and Halfeti this morning, following the appointment of a trustee to the Esenyurt Municipality of Istanbul last week.
MUNICIPALITIES UNION WILL MEET EXTRAORDINARILY TOMORROW
While the ministry's trustee decisions have caused a significant public reaction, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu will attend the extraordinary meeting of the Union of Turkish Municipalities, which he chairs, in Ankara tomorrow.
REQUESTED APPOINTMENTS FROM POLITICAL PARTY LEADERS
It has been learned that before İmamoğlu's visit to Ankara, he requested appointments from the Speaker of the Assembly Numan Kurtulmuş and the leaders of all political parties represented in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.
DEM PARTY AND TİP ARE ALSO ON THE LIST
As the president of the Union of Turkish Municipalities (TBB), İmamoğlu has requested appointments with leaders, including the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly Numan Kurtulmuş and MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli. It is reported that the political parties planned for meetings also include the DEM Party and the Workers' Party of Turkey (TİP).
