AK Party Spokesperson Çelik: Our greatest desire is for a government that reflects the will of the Syrians to emerge.

Speaking at the AK Party Aydın Provincial Youth Congress held at the Atatürk Sports Hall, AK Party Deputy Chairman and Spokesperson Ömer Çelik commemorated the late Prime Minister Adnan Menderes, who was from Aydın. Stating that they are going through a historic turning point, Çelik said that despite many adversities around, Turkey continues on its path in a stable manner.

"WE SAID THERE SHOULD NOT BE TERRORIST ORGANIZATIONS IN SYRIA"

Speaking about the overthrow of the Baath regime in Syria, Çelik said, "From the very beginning, we have said that Syria's territorial integrity and national sovereignty should be respected. 'Syria belongs to the Syrians. External powers should not interfere here. External wills should not impose anything on the Syrian people in any way,' we said. Just as we said that there should not be external impositions in Syria, we also said that there should not be terrorist organizations in Syria."

Pointing out that there is a new reality in Syria, Çelik continued: "From today onwards, we very much desire for this situation in Syria to lead to a government that reflects the will of the Syrian people. This government should be an inclusive government. It should be a model of governance that includes all ethnic groups and sects there, without leading to any violence between sectarian and ethnic groups, and that does not allow the past pains to be experienced again. Look, against those who use fascist rhetoric towards our Syrian brothers whom we host because they fled from death, our President, our party, and our National Alliance stood by humanitarian values. We have always expressed that these brothers will one day return to their countries in a dignified and voluntary manner. 'But we will not send anyone to death,' we said."

"WE DESIRE A GOVERNANCE MODEL WHERE ALL SYRIANS LIVE WITH DIGNITY AND FREEDOM TO MANAGE SYRIA'S FUTURE"

Çelik stated that despite the refugee issue being brought to the political agenda multiple times, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has never stepped back from the law of brotherhood.

Emphasizing that they do not want to see any terrorist organization anywhere in Syria, Çelik said, "We want an inclusive will, an inclusive governance model to emerge in Syria. We desire a governance model where all sects, all groups, all Syrians from all religions, and all ethnic groups live with dignity and freedom to manage Syria's future. Undoubtedly, today Syria needs friends who will approach it with kindness, who will support them for their freedom and right to live with dignity. Undoubtedly, at the forefront of these friends, Turkey, as a brother, has done its part under the leadership of our President so far. It will continue to do so. Unlike others, when we look at Syria, we do not see oil wells there. Unlike others, when we look at Syria, we do not see natural gas resources there. We see people, our brothers, ourselves, and our fate companions with whom we share the same region." he stated.

"WE STAND BY ALL SYRIANS"

Çelik emphasized that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has shown a determined will regarding Syria from the very beginning, and added: "We are not on the side of this group or that group in Syria. We stand by all Syrians. We believe that a government representing all Syrians should be established. Our greatest desire is for a peaceful transition period after the collapse of the Assad regime and for a government that reflects the will of all Syrians to emerge. Undoubtedly, the most reliable power and companion that all Syrians from all sects, all ethnic groups, and all religions will find along this path will once again be the Republic of Turkey. Our President has repeatedly expressed what the end will be for those who look at this region with blood and tears, and he has been right every time. We have seen once again that the politics we have pursued until now, with peace, freedom, and the construction of a common future and common prosperity, is the main source of peace and stability for the entire region. Look, we will all see together. Those who commit genocide in Gaza will also be tried before international law and the court of humanity one day and will be held accountable."

Çelik pointed out that Turkey stands on the right side of history and is seen as a source of peace and security for the entire region. He explained that certain terrorist organizations do not represent the Kurds in Syria in any way, stating, "Our Kurdish brothers in Syria will also gain their freedom with the elimination of the PYD and YPG terrorist organizations here. Thus, all ethnic groups, whether Sunni, Shia, Muslim, or Christian, will be able to look to the future with dignity, and as everyone knows, their greatest supporters are our President and the Republic of Turkey. It has been this way until now, and it will continue to be so." he said.

CRITICISM OF THE OPPOSITION

Çelik drew attention to the fact that despite the changing dynamics in Syria, the CHP has been following developments from years ago, saying, "Today someone asked me. He said, 'Why is the Republican People's Party so helpless in understanding the events in Syria, even though they are seen on television every day?' I said, they cannot even understand what is happening within their own party, let alone understand the events in Syria and the region."
