After being held hostage by the terrorist organization PKK for 6 years in the Gara region of northern Iraq, the mother of soldier Adil Kabaklı, who was martyred on February 14, 2021, Cennet Kabaklı, experienced a heart-wrenching fraud incident.
UNKNOWINGLY SIGNED A PROMISSORY NOTE UNDER THE PRETEXT OF HELP, EXPERIENCED SHOCK MONTHS LATER
Kabaklı was defrauded by her other son, M.S.Y., who is a civil servant at the Gaziantep Provincial Mufti's Office, under the pretext of providing assistance after her son was martyred. The helpless martyr's mother realized she had been defrauded when she received notifications and seizure documents at her home and sought help from the authorities.
THE MARTYR'S MOTHER DEFRAUDED BY HER SON, ASKED FOR HELP WITH TEARS IN HER EYES
Describing her ordeal in tears and asking for help from the authorities, grieving martyr's mother Cennet Kabaklı said, "I am the mother of martyr soldier Adil Kabaklı from Gara. I was defrauded by my other son. He made me sign documents by saying that assistance would be provided to martyr families from the mufti's office. Since my eyesight is not very good, I did not realize that the document was a promissory note. I signed it unknowingly, and a month later, I received a notification at home. Two days ago, a lawyer called to say that a seizure had been placed on my house and car, and that sales procedures had been initiated in my son's name. I was made to sign a promissory note for 2 million TL, and now I am facing a debt of 2.5 million TL with interest," she said.
"I AM LOSING MY HOUSE AND CAR GIVEN TO ME BECAUSE OF MY MARTYR"
The mother, who also stated that she is a cancer patient and that her condition has worsened due to this incident, said, "I am in a very bad situation. I cannot pay these. I only have a salary I receive because of my son. Please help me. They are going to evict me; the sale procedures for my house have been initiated, and my car has been seized. I am losing my house and car that were given to me because of my martyr. I want the authorities to find a solution to this issue and help me. I am a cancer patient, and while I need morale, I am going through these events," she expressed.
"I ACCUSE MY SON OF FRAUD, THIS IS VERY PAINFUL"
Kabaklı, who said that her son deceived her and defrauded her, stated, "My son works as a civil servant at the mufti's office. He deceived me, he defrauded me. I accuse my son of fraud. This is very painful for me. I want him to be caught and imprisoned. Please, I beg you, help me," she said.
